About the Delmarva-NJ Ruritan District

The Delmarva-NJ District is part of Ruritan National. Our large district includes 42 clubs and close to 1,100 members in Delaware, the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia, and New Jersey. The District was formed in 1958 with 10 clubs and was named the Delmarva District. In 1967 the District added New Jersey, and changed to the Delmarva-New Jersey District. Ruritan is a national non-profit community service organization whose mission is improving communities and building a better America through Fellowship, Goodwill, and Community Service.

Our Ruritan Clubs are located in small towns and rural communities. There are very few national programs associated with Ruritan. Ruritan Clubs are there to serve their communities. Each club analyzes its own community‘s needs. The clubs then hold fundraising events and do community service projects to help fill the needs of their community. Ruritan Clubs award scholarships, help citizens in need, help clean and beautify their communities, and work with their local FFA, Boys Scouts, and Girl Scouts, and 4-H Clubs.

The Ruritan Clubs in the Delmarva-NJ District are always looking for support and new members. Please take the time look over the website for more information. Then support your local club, and consider being a member. It will be fun and rewarding, your community with thank you for it.
